The Problem
Adult learners needed English-as-a-second-language training matched to their proficiency levels, with clear progress tracking and flexible scheduling.
Design Challenges
- Varied proficiency levels: learners ranged from beginner to advanced.
- Adult schedules: learners had work and family commitments outside class.
- Virtual delivery: much of the learning happened online rather than in person.
The Solution
I developed leveled ESL content and delivered it through an LMS and virtual classroom. Each level had targeted objectives, practical exercises, and progress tracking.
How I Built It
I assessed learner proficiency levels, designed a leveled curriculum, developed content, managed virtual lessons, and tracked progress and evaluation data in the LMS.
Design Thinking
I designed for adult learners with real-life language scenarios, flexible virtual sessions, and clear milestones so progress felt achievable.
Results & Impact
Learners advanced through proficiency levels and improved their English skills. The LMS made progress visible to both learners and instructors.
